Why is IPv6 multicast any different than IPv4 broadcast (required for ARP
and many other things)? If you run without MLD snooping IPv6 multicast is
implemented as broadcast at the layer 2 level, so it should behave exactly
the same.
You also have the option of using something like 6RD so you avoid IPv6 in
your backbone entirely. Or use MPLS for the same effect.
