I got almost an identical message from Sprint last year when this
issue came up with another sprint customer.  I think you are correct
in one aspect, they won't change their filtering policy overnight.

Individually, most sprint employees are always nice.  Collectively
as a corporation, they seem to have tremendous difficulty moving from
the 'considering it' stage to the 'do something' stage.
