There's been quite a bit of exaggerated (and unhelpful, IMHO) hype around t=
his entire episode from the outset; by the same token, the attacks did prod=
uce non-inconsiderable disruptive collateral effects in EMEA and APAC for v=
arious intervals, which would not likely be observed by an American sitting=
 in his home in America watching online American content and accessing Amer=
ican applications and services hosted on American servers located in Americ=
an IDCs in America.

Some folks don't seem to grasp the whole 'global' notion of the Internet, a=
nd the facet that not everyone who uses or does something on the Internet r=
esides in America.
