No, they don't mean me. 40 miles would be a short flight. :)
I don't have details of the failure, though I have spoken with the techs a
few times today.
The maintenance window was to physically move MAE West downstairs into a
new facility. Apparently one of the four new switches is acting up
(despite having passed a burn-in test) and most peers on that switch have
been experiencing connectivity problems all day.
That's what I know-- the WorldCom NOC should have the latest status.
