Hey all,

A pretty important meeting is happening at the IGF (Internet Governance For=
um) at the moment with a fight about how the internet itself is managed.

The article below gives a good overview of the situation.

http://news.dot-nxt.com/2011/09/22/internet-governance-fight-looms

The worrying thing is the size and power of some of the countries who want =
to do things differently than our present multi-stakeholder approach.

As the writer quotes "Nothing less than the fate of the future evolution of=
the Internet is at stake". It sounds dramatic, but if certain powers get =
their way, it could be close to the truth.

There are numerous people from our community going to be attending the even=
t in Africa and no doubt will report back to us with what is happening.
