As if you believe in network externalities (each additional network node =
increases the value of the entire network) and I certainly do, then =
there is reason to believe a purely private market will not serve enough =
customers. :)
Each customer decides to join the network based on their private =
calculus of cost and benefit and disregards the benefit everyone else =
gains from their joining the network.=20
