My favorite ones are the doughnuts with the cake-y texture. The one that tops the list for me is the tres leches doughnut. It's so good and you can definitely sense the liquidy milk in your doughnut. Along with that, I also had the strawberry jam filled square donut, which was good! There was a jam on every single bite around the donut. The creme brulee was also really good because you get the crunch from the hardened brown sugar that makes it creme brulee. There's a lot of the filling, and that's heaven in my mouth This donut shop is amazing. I went on a weeklong trip to NYC and had Doughnut Plant for breakfast three times and brought a box back to California for my family to try. It's that good! I tried the creme br??l??e, tres leches, oatmeal raisin, and pistachio yeast. My top two were tres leches and oatmeal raisin (best donut I've ever had). All of the donuts were a really nice consistency and surprisingly not as sweet as you'd expect--the exception is the creme br??l??e donut. It was a little too much for breakfast but no doubt perfect for dessert. LOVED Doughnut Plant and you will too. Came to NYC for vacation, a 4 day trip. I try to mix it up, try new places, buy local, etc. I found the doughnut plant on the second day and came almost every day after that. The coffee is great, and the doughnuts are better. Maybe best I've had, without a doubt the most interesting and varied.

This is the most amazing doughnut joint i've been too. From the outside it looks normal but the flavors and types of doughnuts you can get are incredible. Just a note, Doughnut planet's dougnuts were being sold a quite a few Dean and Delucca's across the city from what I saw, so there are tons of places to get em. I came with 5 friends so we ordered a bunch of dougnuts and shared em. We had the PB&J, Tres Leches, Creme Bruelee, and a few other ones. My favorite was the creme brulee, it was so good, candied crispy layer on the top just like creme brulee and a light doughnut on the inside The first time that a friend and I ventured down to Doughnut Plant, we were in the middle of a serious effort to visit every food haven mentioned on the Travel Channel. We weren't really expecting that much because neither of us are particularly fond of doughnuts. Doughnuts are like cake's deformed cousin, or so I thought. The doughnuts at Doughnut Plant aren't even doughnuts, they're small glimpses into the various flavors of nirvana. These doughnuts are so good that they actually made me cry. Okay, so they didn't, but I did end up going back and buying every single flavor that was available that day.

In addition to having crazy delicious flavors (like creme brulee, lavender & orange blossom), Doughnut Plant always has the best employees working there. If you're lucky enough to hit one up just before it closes, there's a good chance that they'll throw a few extra into your bag for free. The doughnuts are supurb. Some are greasy and wonderful like the classic cinnamon sugar and some are just wonderful like the Tres Leches. Good from Tokyo to New York City. Drop on by. The one down note: the coffee is not notable. I don't even really like doughnuts, but this place is GOOD. Since I had my first Doughnut Plant doughnut, I've been craving one ever since. I wanted to try every single one of them, but intellectually I knew that was a bad idea. I definitely recommend the Peanut Butter and Jelly donut, and the Tres Leches (only because those are the two I tried). They're fresh and perfect in every way. There aren't too many seats inside, but I managed to squeeze a spot in the corner bench to scarf down these sugary delights and sip my hot coffee (also very good- rich and bold). Definitely suggest only ordering one if you visit since these delights stuck with me until dinner. This place is pretty pricy for donuts- 3.50 a pop (which sometimes seems ridiculous for the little ones) but I guess you pay for quality and uniqueness! I've had the banana cream peanut crunch yeast donut which was surprisingly great, I've had the creme br??l??e (I think it was a little burnt from looking at other pictures of them- so that wasn't the greatest), and I've had the tres leches which was so moist and good
