I received 43 responses to my survey question last week:

Would you be willing to pledge (and later actually donate) $100 to
be used in an publicity campaign regarding MIT student life?
(E.g. half- or full-page letters to be printed in the New York
   Times?)

Answers:
 6 -- "no"
 3 -- "maybe"
 1 -- "not $100, but $5" (smart aleck)
8 -- "not $100, but $20-50" (commonly heard from undergrads)
25 -- "yes for the right content"
(three of these noted a preference for lesser amounts $25-50)

I'll send another survey question on Tuesday or so.

Jeremy
