seeing as the admins have pretty much backed down and said they were
wrong, it seems to have worked pretty well this time. yeah, it's not
perfect, but they have realized that they can't pull this off. a
petition can be ignored, but a petition signed by half the undergraduate
class is really hard to ignore.
i don't really know exactly how you mean to '[make] it impossible for
them to continue on with their daily business', but i don't think
that something rash like shutting down athena is the answer. instead,
it makes more sense to me to (1) not comply, (2) tell all the alums you
know who are donating money, (3) tell the prefrosh (and their folks), and
(4) let the appropriate people know that if institute screw x proceeds,
mit will not see any money from you once you graduate. oh, yeah, and (5)
let the appropriate people know that you are telling alums and prefrosh.
i like naomi's idea of baking for the admins, too. (was that on one of
these lists?) :)
