First, I did manage to poster some - only the infinite and the first floor of
the student center, though. People should do the rest of the student center.
16-56-66, the dorms, etc.
Second, I meant that you should look at her response to that bunch of flameage
and notice that it's not the response we want to get out of administrators by
flaming them. It does nothing but give them a reason to think they're taking
the moral high ground, or being strong for putting up with our shit. Sure, the
flaming wore her out emotionally, but she didn't register that as punishment -
she registered it as being the student's faults for misinterpreting her words.
And, yes, I also agree with some of what she said. But, as I said to her in an
email, even the things that I agreed with were said in such a condescending
tone that the tone overtook the meaning and made the whole thing sound like
something I should take offense to.
The tone is what's wrong with some of the things I chose to put on the
posters. Some of the quotes may be well-intentioned, but when said as though
speaking about 5-year-olds (or even freshmen in high school) rather than MIT
students they sound completely different.
