We desperately need people to work 10-11, as the brave souls who are getting
up ass early need to go to class. The transition between 9am and 10am classes
is also one of the most critical. PLEASE show up and help. I'll do my best
to do so, as well.
The meeting with Berlin and Walsh was very interesting. I think Walsh
heard what we had to say. Two interesting proposals which came out of the
meeting were:
- Implement dining changes incrementally. Close down dining halls which
are economic failures; pump money into successful ones, try to emulate
them to slowly build credibility.
- Put 1 student from each dorm as a worker in the Office for Student Life.
If the CAP has students on it, why the hell doesn't the Office for Student
Life have some students helping out? Have them spend a few hours a week
talking about what each OSL employee did this week, give initial feedback,
and help notify students of issues while they're still in the planning
stages. (This came out after almost everybody had left the meeting.)
Some of us are trying to put together a record of the meeting, both as
evidence and to publicize some of the choice quotes which came out of it.
