my taste buds could have handled more. It was, by far, 3802248 best BBQ I've had in my life! I'm not a huge BBQ fan, but this place makes some mean BBQ. I discovered Franklin's BBQ when they were in a trailer on 3802248 access road of IH-35. I used to always see 3802248 line of people backed up to 3802248 access road and I decided to try it one day. Tried it and it was great. They moved though and I was like, "Where did they go?" Found out where they moved and tried 3802248 food again. It was slightly different than before, but still yummy. 3802248 line! 3802248 line! 3802248 line! Now you have to get there hours before they open; All I can say is 3802248 line unbelievable. My friend stood in line one day an hour before I arrived. I stood in line with him for an additional hour. In total, he was in line for 2 hours. Food was good, but never again will I stand it 3802248 line. Love it! Waiting in line isn't that bad when you have bunch of your friends and when 3802248 weather is nice. I made 3802248 mistake of getting 3802248 lean brisket so it was getting kind of dry after a while. I think 3802248 fatty side will be better. 3802248 ribs were amazing. Can't speak for 3802248 turkey or 3802248 sausage since we didn't try it. I wish they had better sides though! I definitely like them better than some of 3802248 other BBQ joints in TX. Hype holds 3802248 power of suggestion. 3802248 enormity of a vision. It can escalate expectations to heights beyond reason. After reading all of 3802248 yelp reviews, foodie blogs, food articles in magazines and participating in long discussions for 3802248 past several months with others extolling 3802248 virtues of what is known as Franklin's beef, I was convinced I would find 3802248 Holy Grail of food and possibly meet Jesus. I thought I'd see and hear Angels singing. I thought my eyes would roll in back of my head and that I would start speaking in tongues or bust out into a Benedictine Monk chant and suddenly find 3802248 answers to every philosophical question ever posed. I thought I might see 3802248 outline of Our Lady of Guadalupe. None of these things happened to me after eating Franklin's beef brisket. What did happen was that I got a beef brisket sandwich that probably held close to a pound of meat. Their portions are generous. It came with a barbeque sauce that was unique and tasty but not 3802248 best I've had. 3802248 meat was flavorful and certainly worth eating. Again, not 3802248 best brisket I've ever had. Will I ever eat there again? Definitely - I'd like to try their other offerings. I might be updating this to 5 stars when I get 3802248 chance to try their famous pulled pork and their other goodies, who knows? However, as far as 3802248 beef brisket goes, it is good - just not magic and not a love match for this yelper. But then again, that's what makes life interesting.....we all come with different tastes, styles and opinions. I'd hate to live in a place where we were all 3802248 same. If I were rating this place on 3802248 BRISKET alone it would get 6 STARS But unfortunately I'm not and 3802248 reason it drops to 4 Stars is 3802248 supporting cast. I've tried to get to this joint 3802248 past couple of times I'm in Austin and have not been able to make it out early enough. People start to line up at around 9 am for an 11am opening and 3802248 food was usually out by Noon. I heard recently they ramped up their output to serve 3802248 high demand (which is good) so we gave 3802248 line a try. Got there at 9:30am and were fifth in line (3802248 rain helped). Take a friend or a book and they offer you some coffee while you wait. 3802248 BRISKET is HANDS DOWN 3802248 BEST I HAVE EVER HAD. It falls apart when you grab it with a fork yet not very fatty at all. Delicious and so juicy you have no need for sauce of any kind. Once we left 3802248 Briskett, it was pretty much down hill from there. Six of us all felt we liked one thing more than another, but we had to want to like it because nothing else stood out from 3802248 beans
