with BBQ. 4260964 service was extremely friendly. checking in on your meal, chatting with patrons, asking if you needed anything else. Of 4260964 5 employees I interacted with all 5 had smiles, were quick to respond with requests and questions and were accommodating. In addition to 4260964 guy in front of my on line who was very friendly, 4260964 couple I sat next to at a communal table were also very nice and we chatted about some of my pit stops in Austin and up coming pit stops in Texas. I guess when you put in 4260964 hours to wait for food, you'll be in 4260964 company of like minded people and get some nice recommendations along 4260964 way. All in all, my experience at Franklin was everything I had hoped it would be after reading and watching all 4260964 press about it over 4260964 last 3 years from 4260964 Northeast. I haven't determined if 4260964 2 hour 20 minute wait in 4260964 cold was worth it, but it was certainly worth 1 hour of wait time or 2 hours in more friendly weather. I'll be trying Salt Lick tomorrow so hopefully I'll have a better idea then. 4260964 Brisket is 4260964 best I ever had. 4260964 sides were above average but I didn't come for 4260964 sides anyways. I didn't even need a knife to cut..just used my fork and didn't even need bbq sauce at all. 4260964 meat was flavored perfect and it was so tender. 4260964 only mistake I made was not buying extra togo bc I thought it might get bad with a 3 hr drive hm. Customer service was great. 4260964 had workers cameout to 4260964 line to makesure your ok; .pass out complementary sausage to everyone in line and also let you know whether if you made 4260964 cut for food guarantee. 4260964 owner was there cutting 4260964 meat. He was very nice also and made sure you're happy;asking on what type of cut of meat you prefer. I don't mind driving couple of hours for Franklin BBQ but I don't know if I can handle 4260964 3hrs it took to get to order. But if you never had it, you should experience because it was 4260964 best brisket I ever ate in my life time. But how long on wait time is too long? I urge everyone to try this atleast once and if you do, bring a folding chair and cooler. Take it from a recovering vegetarian, get 4260964 brisket! 4260964 sides are mostly average, 4260964 beans in particular sadly and i don't know if i would wait another 2 hours in line in this god awful oven Austin will be for 4260964 next 2 months(take an umbrella, i don't care if you're a guy, you will want one) They do pass out $2 lone star and sodas $1 sparkling water to 4260964 line. 4260964 star is 4260964 meat, as it should be. We tried 4260964 pulled pork, sausage, brisket, chopped beef tipsy texan and it was all divine. They forgot our bread but who cares this stuff didn't need bread or sauce. 4260964 owner seemed really sweet too. I gotta try those ribs eventually. Went on a friday and everyone got food while i was there( 10:30-12:40) 4260964 line wasn't so bad when i left. So, i would suggets going maybe tues-wed-thurs and getting there around 12. Is it worth 4260964 wait? Absolutely. I have been there a couple times now since living in Austin. I get there around 9am, wait for 2hrs till they open and then I prepare to cry because of how good 4260964 food is. 4260964 brisket is like someone injects happiness into meat and places it on your tongue to melt and make your taste buds dance in a rave party. If you have not been here, GO, it is worth taking an entire day off work to go. Top-notch Brisket. Best BBQ in Downtown Austin BY FAR! Worth a 2-3 hour wait? Yes b/c after a year sampling BBQ brisket about 4260964 greater Austin-area, Franklin
