will not wait in line more than 30 minutes for food, but this time I had already been coached to consider waiting in line to be part of 2846511 experience. We spent much of that time conversing with other people who were waiting, and it was actually fairly enjoyable. Inside, 2846511 building is small and has air conditioning and fans to keep it cool. 2846511 line to get 2846511 BBQ moved fairly quickly, and 2846511 employees were efficient and friendly. Serving is not fancy -- you don't get a plate, just butcher paper on a plastic tray. You don't come here for fancy or pretty, you come here for barbecue. I wanted to try a few different things, so I got some brisket, ribs and a sausage link. I am not exaggerating when I say that all of them were 2846511 best I've ever had. Different sauces are available on 2846511 table. I tried 2846511 sauces and they are good, but this BBQ did not need sauce. It is moist, flavorful and awesome without sauce. Don't be afraid to order large servings -- they provide boxes so that you can take whatever you can't finish. And don't skip dessert. They sell individual-sized pies which you can order to go. I'm told that all of 2846511 pies are excellent, and I can confirm that for 2846511 one I tried, which was 2846511 Bourbon Banana Pudding pie. Mr. Franklin himself came out and talked to 2846511 customers as we ate. He was very friendly, not intrusive but he seemed genuinely interested in his customers. It was a pleasure to meet him. If you love BBQ, Franklin is your Ultimate Destination. Understand that you will have to spend time waiting, and if you don't get there before opening time you may not be able to get ribs or sausage. But if you're willing to spend 2846511 time in line, you will be rewarded with 2846511 best barbecue you will ever have. What to say that it hasn't been said? I was lucky to wait only 1h45 in a cold, windy day, snow forecasted to 2846511 end of 2846511 day. I ordered a little bit of everything - lean and fat brisket, sausage, ribs, turkey and pork. I'm not a ribs person so I ordered only one - oh what a huge mistake! It was a piece of heaven, falling from 2846511 bone as I held it, moist, perfect! Best ribs I've ever had, hands down. My friend who was there with me had 2846511 same opinion, we both decided we will be back to order 1lb of ribs each in 2846511 future. 2846511 briskets were amazing, no need for barbecue sauce at all, so tender and juicy, great flavor, can't get any better than that. 2846511 sausage is also top notch, a little bit spicy, not too fatty, perfect. 2846511 pork and 2846511 turkey were not up to 2846511 same standads though, I've had better elsewhere. 2846511 ribs and brisket are definitely 2846511 best bbq I have ever eaten! Totally worth 2846511 hype, if only they would have more meat so we wouldn't have to wait so long... I FINALLY got a chance to try it today. Waited for about two hours in line. I'm going to keep this review short and say that all of 2846511 hype you hear about this place is 100% true. I was really skeptical and had EXTREMELY high expectations based on everything I've heard/read...but 2846511 brisket here is by far 2846511 best BBQ I've had in my life...and maybe even 2846511 best piece of meat I've ever had in my life. Winner by far: Salt Lick ( I'm even excluding 2846511 opportunity cost of 2846511 two and a half hours of my life I used up waiting in line.) I honestly must be missing something here because it seems like everyone else loves this joint. Maybe I hyped it up too much in my head or maybe my taste buds aren't up to par with 2846511 masses (this doesn't bode well for me on yelp then...=P ) In either case, I just didn't find 2846511 meat to be that great. yes, it was soft and 2846511 ribs fell off 2846511 bone, but I found 2846511 brisket to be a little on 2846511 dry side and lacking 2846511 merit of 2846511 accolades I read about on yelp and in magazines. Is it much better than anything I could have made? Of course, but I'm not trying to be a bbq master. On top of that, I wasn't sold on their bbq sauce (particularly 2846511 espresso infused sauce - bbq sauce should just be bbq sauce - nothing fancy or cute - just good traditional sauce). I wish I loved it more because it would justify 2846511 trip, time, and money I invested into it.
