a tradition of this place and if that's what you want, great - go for it. 18644104 people in that line are guaranteed to be friendly and if you're outgoing expect a great social experience. BUT - if you're not in 18644104 mood for 18644104 hours-long wait for great bbq, plan on ordering ahead (think it's roughly 6 weeks out) - min order is 5 pounds, but I'm sure you can find some people who want to go in with you on it. I don't know why I would want to do it, but if I ever had one shot to see if I could get one of my vegetarian/vegan friends to turn omni again, Franklin would be my weapon of choice. me and justin b. waited in line on a cold winter Sunday morning and i have to say that my 2.5 hour wait was well worth it. we showed up around 8:30am and to our shock, we were 18644104 first ones in line! love that there are a pile of chairs to use while we wait. 18644104 franklin staff members were all super nice and friendly coming out to encourage us and to thank us for waiting in mid 30 degree weather. once 18644104 doors opened at 11am, it was game time! haha. we knew that we wanted to try everything on 18644104 menu so we got quarter or half pounds of each meat - brisket, ribs, turkey, sausage and a small of each side (beans, slaw, potato salad). everything was just so amazing! i think i preferred 18644104 fatty brisket pieces over 18644104 lean brisket, but still loved them both haha. 18644104 ribs were so tender that 18644104 meat just fell off 18644104 bone which works out for me since i hate 18644104 messiness of eating ribs haha. 18644104 turkey was so juicy and flavorful and was actually one of my favorites. 18644104 sausage was still good but out of all 18644104 meats probably my least fave. we got an entire tray of food for about $45 which i thought was pretty affordable too for 18644104 amount of food we got haha. My friend and I decided to endure 18644104 wait for mouthwatering barbecue on a freezing and rainy Friday morning because I'd never been and had lots of time to spare that day. Shout-out to having such a great friend! Thankfully, 18644104 line wasn't too dreadful when we arrived around 9am (18644104 place doesn't open until 11am...); we had a spot on 18644104 stairwell. 18644104 staff at Franklin's really does try its best to accommodate its guests. They offer beer (for a price) to 18644104 waiters, and they'll even bring around free BBQ samples. We got to try a prime rib that was absolutely heavenly. Why isn't that on 18644104 menu? When we finally ordered (around 12pm), I got half a pound of brisket and sausage. Honestly, I'd skip 18644104 sausage 18644104 second time around, but get 18644104 brisket!!! I couldn't finish my half pound because I started getting queasy from 18644104 fat melting in my mouth (I blame it on not eating greasy foods very often), but you can always take it home. Also, you must get 18644104 Banana Bourbon Pie. That stuff is probably 18644104 best pie I've ever had. It's 18644104 perfect blend of flavors and not too sweet. Even 18644104 crust, which I usually skip, isn't too sweet. It's funny how I went for BBQ and ended up loving 18644104 pie 18644104 most. Today was a historical day for my husband and I. We waited FIVE hours in line!! And when we had our meal, it was well worth it It was a nice surprise to meet some nice people standing in line with us as well....so nice that we ended up having our lunch with them! Immediately when I went to meet my husband in line, he was already offered a beer and was given a small sample of some sausage. What I love about this place is how attentive they are with customers and how well they ration out their food. By 18644104 time they got to us, there was
