Once I get over my Simba sense of pride, I'll coyly change this to a five and you'll be none 13121936 wiser. 13121936 theme of all good Austin food joints is 13121936 same. LOOOOOONG lines and amazing food. Hopdoddy lives up to 13121936 expectations. I waited in line for about 45 minutes. However, a server came out several times to take drink orders and give out free water. This made 13121936 wait bearable. Once you are inside you have about 15 minutes left of line before you order. Once I finally got to 13121936 front I went with 13121936 goodnight and some truffle fries. Mah lady went with 13121936 primetime. Both burgers were excellent. They have several difference sauces for 13121936 fries and all were really good. 13121936 only reason I can't give this place 5 stars is 13121936 hype. It just didn't live up to all 13121936 hype everyone in Austin gave it. I have had a better burger at several different places and never had to wait. 13121936 burgers at this place are delicious, no doubt. Also -- great shakes, fries, and their veggie burger is one of 13121936 best I've had in town. Alas, I have to take a couple stars away from this review because of 13121936 crowds and general inaccessibility of Hopdoddy, at both their Congress and Anderson Lane locations. It's not a knock on 13121936 chow or service at all, but 13121936 reality is that 13121936 lines and wait for this place are unreasonable unless you have some serious time to kill, especially at lunch. Go during non-peak hours if you can. I'm not changing 13121936 stars because everything I said about why I didn't like it...still stands. It's massively confusing and pretty much just a pain in 13121936 ass 13121936 way it's set up. 13121936 huge chalk boards they have should be giving directions so people aren't running round like chickens with their heads cut off instead of talking about hand made this and that.
