Decor was nice, atmosphere was reasonably quiet (easy to converse with tablemates). Service generally impressed. Our server saved us from over ordering (two of each didn't sound so bad to us newbies), seemed to help pace the arrival of dishes at the table, stopped by just before 6:00pm to take our buzzer-beating order, and even brought out an extra plate "on the house." Because it was admittedly our first time, they wanted us to try what they called their signature dish. More on that soon.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee

<p><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><span style="font-size: 12px; color: #f4f5f5;">This place has a ton of great reviews and there is a reason for it. This place is great.

I started off with a beer. I'm not a saki drinker. The beer I had ordered was no longer available, but instead of the waitress just coming back and delivering unfortunate news, she had actually brought out a different beer that was comparable to the one I had ordered. She told me the chef had suggested this Kagua Rouge Belgian Strong Dark Ale and I went ahead and got it. The beer was delicious, had the hit of an IPA but replace the bitterness with a nice flowery taste.

The place is known for their tadas, which is basically for the lack of a better term, a toasted chip with your choice of tuna, shrimp etc. on top. These are delicious and cheap. There are a ton of other great dishes to sample. We tried the Cajun Albacore which had a bit of kick to it and the aioli was not too overpowering. They have some golden ocean trout and the kicker is that they include pop rocks on the bits of fish so it pops in your mouth. It was a bit of a novelty but still delicious and who is going to say no to pop rocks? We also had firecracker rolls and the volcano rolls and they were both delicious.

To top it all off, the waitress also brought us some of the yellow tail free of charge. I thought this was a nice compliment to the meal. She already had shown some great initiative with the beer compromise and now the place was offering us a free yellowtail.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee
