Khmer Kitchen was my first encounter with Cambodian cuisine, and it was a pleasant experience for my taste buds. I ordered a papaya salad and a stir-fried chicken dish that was recommended by the server. I had had quite a few papaya salads in the past from Thai restaurants and liked them, so I was curious how a Cambodian-style papaya salad would taste. The flavor profile is certainly similar, but I like how the shredded papaya was long enough that I could eat the dish like I would eat noodles. And the portion was huge; I was so full after finishing the fresh and delectable papaya salad that I had to take my entree home. The entree dish was equally delicious. In fact, the two ladies sitting next to my table kept commenting on how fragrant and mouthwatering this dish was in Chinese that I wondered if I should have let them try it.

While I was pleased with the foods, I wasn't too thrilled with the service. Granted, Khmer Kitchen is a tiny establishment with few seats that having only one server is not entirely unreasonable. However, service was so slow when I dined there because it was during peak dining hours. I would suggest avoiding the 6-7 pm rush hour.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee
