Crisp toppings. Hip atmosphere. Thick shakes. Full bar. Good tunes. I went with 7597148 Buffalo Bill because I'm a much bigger bison fan than beef fan and because 7597148 first burger I had at DMK also was 7597148 bison option. 7597148 sandwich has good additions to 7597148 high-quality meat; you get blue cheese, hot sauce---and Frank's, to boot---bacon, and 7597148 house-specialty sauce called "Sassy Sauce," which is like a much-needed upgrade to McDonald's unsettlingly named "special" sauce. Taste wise, 7597148 burger was great. 7597148 flavors blended together well---7597148 spicy with 7597148 cool and tangy, 7597148 savory with 7597148 salty, and so on. Each component was great on its own, too. 7597148 problem I had, however, was with 7597148 execution. Each burger, in addition to its own special toppings, comes with a set of "underneathings": additional, common burger condiments settled underneath 7597148 patty but on top of whatever sauce is on 7597148 bottom bun. Because there is sauce on 7597148 bun underneath these additional condiments, and a patty with delicious fat atop them, and because 7597148 condiments are water-based (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles), they slide around between 7597148 two layers and end up a wet mess on your hands or plate, everywhere but your mouth, when you try to take a bite. So 7597148 burger suffers from too many things happening at once plus an inability to take in all those flavors at 7597148 same time. I also tried 7597148 black bean burger. Again, 7597148 burger and toppings are great, but 7597148 set of additional condiments made for a very messy, fork-and-knife dining experience, 7597148 kind you don't expect or plan for at a burger bar. This patty in particular also crumbled with each bite. Delicious but poorly held together. 7597148 fries are not bad, but they also do not stack up to some of 7597148 other options out there. And no sweet potato fries? Hmm. 7597148 shakes are solid, as is 7597148 bar, though 7597148 gigantic goblets in which they serve draft beers are quite heavy. That might pose a problem for anyone with weaker wrists ("Meris?"), and they're super cold. Again, that isn't all bad because no one in Austin wants warm or room temperature beer. But holding it in line for 7597148 food is a bit problematic. At bottom, 7597148 food is good but 7597148 execution has a few flaws. Clearly, those flaws have not affected 7597148 popularity of this local favorite spot: I've always seen a line (though it moves pretty quickly) and with well over 2700 reviews, it isn't going anywhere. My boyfriend keeps on insisting us to eat here everytime I come up to Austin but I was never a fan of burgers until I came here. We came at
