It was a party of two and the hosts said we had to wait from 45min- an hour, it was cool because we were already expecting a long wait! So they sent us a few doors down to their waiting room, where you can just chill while you wait. Finally, they called us to go into the restaurant and it was sooooo tiny! Maybe about 50 people fit in there (or less) but the atmosphere is so great. I got a black bean burger with the asparagus, and they were both soooooo great, don't be afraid to try their sides other than fries! <p><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><span style="font-size: 12px; color: #f4f5f5;">I was so excited to try another restaurant from the "Lokal" family. I???m a huge fan of Lokal and have always recommended the place to my friends. With much sadness I have to say I am NOT a fan of Kush. Lokal is 100x better.
First, when you walk in the place is tiny and awkwardly set up. The place is super dark; Identity crisis--is this Bar or restaurant? I like to see my food when I eat please. We were initially going to dine in but they said it was a 25 min wait and I was wanting to go home so I opted for take out instead. Also, just looking at the tables and chairs, the stools looked hella uncomfortable (all metal and either a short back or no back at all.)
I ordered 2 classics (1 medium with spicy slaw and 1 well done with sweet potato fries) and 1 Veggie Black Bean burger (no cheese and cream to make it vegan). When we got home, I open my to go containers (those were cute and traveled well), I see my medium burger and spicy slaw with the most pathetic lettuce arrangement, the well done burger is medium rare-medium and with regular fries, and the Black bean burger has cheese (so not so Vegan anymore.) I really did not understand why my order came out this way because I stood right in front of the staff taking my order and she wrote it all down (Im guessing I should've asked her to read it back to me.)
I was so disappointed by this take out experience. The burgers were tasty but this complete mess up was annoying. At least the staff was nice even though my order wasn't.
Kush is a place to go if you???re looking for Lokal burgers in the Wynwood neighborhood. Dont expect super comfy seating and if you're ordering take out make sure you check your boxes before you leave. Don't make my mistake and expect Lokal ambience.
