Come on now... How does one take a star off Chef Dan's most intimate private catering experience?
This incredibly special and comforting dinner is like nothing else you've experienced in DC. You sit at a communal table with 10 strangers, in great anticipation watching the chef to plate the first course, pondering on a short hand-written menu of four courses in front of you (no worries, there will be 10), making the first sip of wine. The atmosphere is relaxed and curios. You chat with people you just met (in best DC spirit some arrive from across the country!), noticing at the corner of you eye the meticulous work taking place in a small kitchen. The surroundings excite every sense: you smell something before it is being put in front of you, you glance over the half-plated dishes and the crew doing their magic, you hear the sizzling of the meat hitting the pan, you observe an idea list written in sharpie on the wall, a fridge with a shopping list pinned onto it, numerous trays, plastic containers, saucers with food ready to be plated.
