The first--and as of right now, only--time I went to Nico's Pier 38 was to meet two friends for dinner, and on a regular Friday evening in the fall, I was surprised at how crowded the eatery was. There was only three of us and the place was bustling at around 6 p.m. I remember sitting at one of the higher tables 19477853 (close to the bar?) and we didn't even get a booth. However, the food was delicious and I was in good company, so I wasn't paying much attention to the details. All I remember was that Nico's was a flurry of activity, and I would love to visit the restaurant again perhaps for lunch or dinner during the middle of the week, when it's hopefully calmer.

I only remember what I ordered during my 19477853 first trip to Nico's (not even what my friends got), but I would order that wonderful "Fish and Chips" entr??e again in a heartbeat. Here's the downlow:

"Fish and Chips": I'm always on the hunt for a delicious fish and chips, so I naturally had to taste the Nico's version. This entr??e consisted of fresh fish beer battered and served with fries, malt vinegar and Nico's ginger garlic cilantro dip on the side. Yum! I enjoyed the fish and chips entr??e at neighboring Uncle's, 7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee but I really liked the version at Nico's as well. The fish tasted fresh and flavorful, and the exterior batter was sheer perfection--light, crispy and sufficient; not overbearing and not too crispy. Very well done. I also generously poured the malt vinegar all over my fish and fries for added flavor. It's been a while since my visit to Nico's, so I can't remember what the garlic cilantro dip tastes like, but I remember thinking it was a welcomed change from the tartar sauce that traditionally accompanies 19477853 fish and chips dishes. I do remember, though, that I liked the Nico's fish and chips entr??e so much that I would order it again in a heartbeat.

"Pesto Chicken Caesar Salad": If I ever went to Nico's for lunch or wanted a lighter meal for dinner, this is the salad I would get. It features chicken breast that's grilled, sliced and brushed with basil pesto, set on a bed of crunchy cold romaine lettuce and sprinkled with fresh grated Parmesan cheese and croutons.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee
