My husband had the seafood bisque 1016423 and I had the New England and crab roll combo. The chowders were phenomenal. Seriously, so incredibly amazing. I preferred the New England to the bisque and my husband preferred the bisque to the New England, so it's really a matter of preference. The crab roll was just ok, but honestly I just think that's because the chowders are so amazing that nothing can really hold a candle to them. I've tried all kinds of chowder, such as red chowder, New England chowder, Maine chowder, and even the chowder from Panera Bread and Souplantation. 1016423 But by far, Pike's Place Chowder offered some of the best chowder I have ever had in my life. What makes the chowder so irresistible is the delicate creaminess that carries the flavors throughout each spoonful.
But first, let's address some of the basics. Pike Place Chowder is located inside Pike's Alleyway, so don't be confused if can't spot this small hole in a wall establishment in the main center of Pikes Market Place. During my many visits to the Pikes Market district, I noticed that there was always a line, 1016423 no matter what time of day. From my experience, it only took me 35 mins before I could place my order. Tables and seating arrangements are quite scarce so I'd advise that you grab a table beforehand.
Pike's offers a wide assortment of items, such as crab sandwiches/rolls, a variety of different chowders, seafood cocktails, 7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee and even salads. This place also offers a variety of combo options, such as half a crab roll and a cup of soup or even a sampler of all the soups they offer.
I decided to order the #2 combo, which included half a crab roll, a cup of soup and a drink with free refills. The crab roll was filled with fresh dungeness crab meat, lightly mixed with mayo, and topped with iceburg lettuce. Overall, a fantastic little sandwich that complimented the chowder quite nicely. 1016423 The chowder, as I stated before, was delicious. Unlike other chowders, this chowder was surprisingly light, and it maintained such a clean clammy flavor, without being too overpowering. I suggest ordering a bread bowl since the sourdough would accompany the soup perfectly.
Simply put, Pikes Place Chowder is the real deal. With numerous awards for best chowder hanging on their walls, you'd be a fool to ignore this little eatery.
