Wings were packed full of flavor pre-lime, 16109755 if conservative in size. Gnocchi didn't disappoint with the plush pasta, but I wouldn't have turned down more saucing and another crusty slice of bread. The sausage added richness to the cream sauce, and the mushrooms gave it an earthy heartiness that would gladly send me back to this dish another visit. Rotisserie chicken was tasty enough to not be boring, and I liked that the red potato mash left some skins in. Pear and kale salad replaced the brussels sprouts side that day, and was appropriately fresh and dressed.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee

Food is enjoyable but the reservation service and policy leaves much to be desired. We had reservations for eight at 6:45 (which were apparently unavailable on Open Table and required several calls) and six of us were present and the remaining two were en route within five minutes. They refused to seat us, 16109755 though we even planned to get appetizers and drinks, until everyone arrived. They then informed us they couldn't hold our table any longer and were giving it away, and that it would be 45 minutes to an hour wait from that point. A couple minutes later our last two arrived and we had to wait an hour for a table. Once we did finally get a table, they basically shoehorned eight of us into a circular table for seven and brought a chair. I felt like an astronaut shoved in a space capsule as I tried to eat without losing feeling in my legs and feet.
During my long wait, I checked out the bar and was able to get an enjoyable Farmers Smash cocktail which is their rye, bitters 16109755 and citrus ginger syrup. The bar service was friendly but slow but hey we had plenty of time to wait.
As for the food, it was very enjoyable. The corn bread is a bit odd in that it has lots of whole kernels and it softer than most places but is worth a try. The fried green tomatoes are also tasty as they aren't too "fancified" with weird sauces or ingredients and are just lightly breaded, fried, and served hot. The 7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee Yankee pot roast is excellent and is a huge serving of lean and tender meat on a bed of mashed potatoes, carrots, celery, green beans, and other vegetables.
They may serve many southern inspired items here but their arrogance is the opposite of southern hospitality. I'll be back here to try some menu items but don't think I'd plan to come here with a group of friends unless we 16109755 brought sleeping bags and were okay waiting for hours. This place definitely thinks too highly of itself when while tasty and enjoyable it's sort of the DC food snob version of Cracker Barrel with a bar.
I do want to mention that they reached out to me with an explanation of their perspective on what occurred following my review.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee
