Incredible food - I had the saba grill which 3650561 was cooked over lemon slices with sliced dehydrated garlic chips. The fish was perfectly cooked and very aromatic. Next I ordered daikon oden which was sort of like a cooked turnip in fish broth. It was delicious and comfort food. Last I had boiled arugula with radish in ponzu sauce. Definitely a nice choice, where vegetables are arranged in little parcels with a heap of shaved radish over top.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee

I am completely dying over my meal here. Two words: dy.ing. Thus, I don't think 3650561 there is a more fitting business worthy of my 200th Yelp review than Guu with Garlic. (Yeah, we're going internationale for my big 200! And yes, Canada does count as international despite its official language being English, having nearly identical currency rates as the US, and its close proximity to good ol' 'Murica.)

Guu with Garlic has all the right quirks, energy, and flavors to distinguish itself as one of the most authentic izakayas on the Western Hemisphere. Right when you enter, you will be welcomed with a loud and hearty Japanese 3650561 greeting from the entire staff. Yup, you receive love from errrr-one. This restaurant is small but they sure utilize their space efficiently. My partner and I made reservations for a Wednesday night. I think you can slide by without booking reservations if you have a small party. We sat at the bar, which was very exciting since we got the opportunity to witness Guu's master chefs at work.

Be prepared to give your taste buds a run for 7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee their money! Bold and perfectly executed flavors, the tapas will leave a lasting impression...literally. That garlic seasoning lingers for a while. Guu even provides mouthwash in their restroom to help with that garlic breath (it's in the name so you gotta expect it)!

Every dish we ordered gave me a jolt. The ingredients were top-notch, the sauces were savory, and the presentation was exquisite.

*Yaki Udon - stir-fried udon noodles with sliced beef, 3650561 mushrooms, and green onions cooked in a soy butter sauce, with a sprinkling of sesame seeds and dried seaweed flakes. The noodles were smooth, chewy, and lightly coated in a mild butter sauce. So divine! I highly recommend this simple, yet tasty dish.

*Magura Steak - a giant seared Ahi tuna with beautiful garnishes. The tuna was nicely seared on the outside, and left rare in the middle. This steak was thick, at least an inch in diameter! It had a delicious meaty 3650561 flavor, and rich, buttery texture.

*Takoyaki - stellar fried octopus balls! Tiny, piping hot balls of batter filled with green onions, ginger, crunchy tempura bits, and octopus. The takoyaki was drizzled with a sensational Japanese mayo sauce, and topped with delicate bonito flakes and dried seaweed. So mouthwatering. I loved how the crispy toasted shell juxtaposed with the gooey filling inside.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee
