<p><br><br><br><br><br><br><br><span style="font-size: 12px; color: #f4f5f5;">I have been waiting to go to Wood Tavern for a long time, years actually, and finally decided to take my sweetie here for an Anniversary 4430393 dinner. Last year he took me to Fleur de Lys and what a wonderful experience that was. I was hoping that Wood Tavern would be up for the challenge.
The rustic decor and cozy feel was great for a romantic dinner. I did ask to be seated by the window but they had informed me 4430393 that was taken already. I was a little disappointed that our table was about 2 inches away from the next couple and we could practically eat off their plates.
We shared the mushroom soup of the day 7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee and burrata with comice pears for our appetizer. We still had plenty of burrata left and asked for extra toasted bread and that's when things started going downhill. We waited 30 minutes for toasted bread, 30 minutes! The waitress apologized and said that because the owners were there with their drinking buddies (the party came in after us), their orders took priority over ours and pushed our orders back. That left a bad taste in our mouths but again we patiently waited.
Now I am all about enjoying a well paced meal 4430393 slowly but what is ridiculous is that we waited over an hour from the time we ordered until we got our entree. We had arrived at 815 and did not get our food until 930pm. For a good 30 minutes we didn't have any food and were just sipping on our drink and getting hungry and tired. I'm not sure if this is common to wait this long or because we, as paying customers, have to wait much longer for our food because of the owners table's orders but that seems to be what the waitress insinuated. We were actually getting a bit angry at this time as I wanted so much for this to be a great and special dinner and instead we are just sitting in our chairs for over 30 minutes between appetizer and entree wasting our time.
The only reason they got 3 stars is because our food is actually quite good. The mushroom soup was creamy and savory, the burratta was soft and delicious and perfectly flavoured.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee
