Came here because the place next door we wanted to try didn't have any tables available. I should know only to get the dutch apple pie 11769480 as that is what everyone else raves about. But no, I decide that the wife and I should grab dinner there.

Let's start off with the hot appetizer platter. It was interesting. Of all the things, it reminded me of appetizers found at cheesy Chinese 11769480 restaurants. Not to say that they tasted horrible, but I just didn't expect it at all. Would I order it again, probably not.

As someone who grew up eating steaks at various establishments, from low low end to high end, I understand that I get what I pay for. I understand that the meat might not be top quality, that it might be a bit chewy, that 7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee the marbling might not be there. What I don't get is how this place could absolutely drop the ball on cooking the steak properly. When I mean drop the ball, I mean drop the ball like it's a New Years countdown in Time Square!

So I placed an order with the waitress for steak cooked medium based upon her recommendation. I usually get it cooked that way back home, but I didn't know if the Dutch prefer to cook it differently. Now 11769480 in my previous experience, I expect the steak to be a bit overcooked, but I am fine with that and am willing to accept the consequences. However, when I received my steak it was as rare as getting one of Willy Wonka's Golden Bars! However, before I complained I checked with my waitress to make sure that the Dutch definition of medium was the same as my definition. The waitress agreed that it was rare and kindly offered to have the chef throw it on the grill again.

As I am sitting there waiting for my steak to be cooked a bit more thoroughly, I'm thinking, wow that went pretty smoothly. Sending back the steak didn't make the slightest difference. Yes the outside was grilled a bit more, but for some reason the inside somehow, miraculously managed to stay the same. Long long story short, I gave up on it after a while and just chalked it up as a loss.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee
