We ordered a winter chicories salad with 23432237 pistachios and pancetta to share. It was huuuge! The light yet sturdy texture of the greens and the crunch of the toasted nuts went nicely together and the dressing wasn't too too balsamic-y. I would order this again. Our entrees were diver scallops with lentils and saffron cream and a flat iron steak with greens and potatoes. Both were cooked perfectly and were rich without being overwhelming. Dessert was a standout. We had the apple pastry with dulce de leche and a tres leches cake that was on special. So good!7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee

Little Beast started as a pop-up in 2012 that did so well that the owner and head chef Sean Lowenthal took over this quaint early-1900s 23432237 Craftsman house (with one of the best patios in the 818) and turned it into what it is now - a neighborhood restaurant with progressive seasonal cuisine that is fresh and delicious and rivals the amazing restaurants in Yountville (Napa).

BTW, Eagle Rock sounds so much more badass.

So yea, after returning to Little Beast for 23432237 the first time since they opened a little over a year ago I am still impressed. In fact, during that time, the food has really matured and chef de cuisine Sujan Mun has definitely used her Korean heritage and classic culinary background to do amazing things. Beastly things.

Being a seasonal restaurant, depending on when you go the menu will be different. Furthermore, instead of being like a stupid cable 7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee tv company that offers hundreds of useless channels, Little Beast does away with countless pages of menu offerings and keeps it simple. So, on any given night (except Monday when they are closed) there will be about 10 appetizers, 5-6 main entrees, and 4-5 desserts.

We ended up sharing the delicious chipotle hummus served with smoked paprika pita crisps ($8) that were so good that like 23432237 Oliver Twist, I had to ask for more.

I ordered the special of the day which was a braised oxtail bucatini. Honestly, this has to be the best pasta dish I have had in a long time. The braised oxtail was fall-apart tender and the garlic sauce that smothered 23432237 the hollowed-out bucatini noodles was out-of-this-world-Guardians-of-the-Galaxy great... errr groot!

The mother-in-law ordered the crispy chicken breast served with a chickpea panisse, broccolini, and pistachio gremolata that was very hearty. This dish, like blue-faced Yondu Udonta played by Michael 23432237 Rooker (better known as Merle from Walking Dead) was not really bad, but also not really groot.

The wifey and sister-in-law both ordered the asparagus risotto seasoned with meyer lemon and mint that was topped with parmesan. The risotto had this delightfully green color that reminded me of Gamora's skin (Zoe Zaldana's character from Guardians of the Galaxy). Taste-wise it was very groot.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee
