I found this place while looking for another during my stay in St. Louis last trip during the snow and cold. I come here regularly now and find that Tuesdays are 21946600 for Tuckers Place. It is prime rib night (actually all day) there and you can get a 16 ounce piece for 18 bucks which includes salad, potato and bread. It was a great find.
Tuckers is primarily a restaurant with a cozy,corner-bar feel to it. After dinner subsides, it is more like a bar as the population of 21946600 patrons concentrate around the drink area. I have yet to get anything but the prime rib, but their version is as good as I have tasted anywhere. I really like that they take your portion up to your desired temperature over a char-grill, searing the meat with great flavor and grill marks. It is then complimented with their own blend of seasoning that I can't even begin to describe, other than fantastic. The prime is tender as butter, and so tasty. Salad is pretty good, and the potato is cooked well. They could do better with the bread which is just okay. Beer selections are great, which also compliment the meal.
Unfortunately, service is just about average, 21946600 although I have to say that I was welcomed at the door and seated right away. My waitress, Tonya, didn't seem to notice that I was dining alone and that I was ready to order right away (i.e. skip the drink order). I could barely hear her and there was no attempt to up sell anything which might have made the experience even better. She didn't bring the sour cream I asked for and left before I could ask again for it. When the check arrived as an afterthought I was asked "do you want cheesecake or anything"? Anything? Turns out that translates to chocolate cake, the only other desert choice. Could do better with both service and offerings, which is why I didn't give the place 5 stars.
Still, this is not 5 star fine dining. It is excellent food served quickly in a great atmosphere within a budget that anyone can appreciate. My whole meal came to 33 bucks which included two craft IPAs and tax. I'll be back next trip, on Tuesday night.7ea99ed1b6714702bd5343b786c98bee
