a few reminders from a (former) list owner
1. this list is an announcement and discussion list for the mit
community, and was set up when non-housing discussions overflowed
the housing-talk lists. there are quite a few professors and
administrators on this list, and it would be nice to encourage
them to stay, if we want to continue to have a dialogue with
them on more topical issues, such as pass/no-record changes.
2. if you are upset about what something that has been written here,
i would recommend writing an email, _not_ sending it, and then
looking at it again in a few hours time (or after sleeping).
after the frustration and anger have passed away, you may find
that you can refine your arguments and/or realize you've been
saying the same thing for 3 pages.
3. if you do write long emails (and by all means, please do!) please
a) use a descriptive subject line and
b) break down your email into paragraphs.
4. always always always get permission from the sender before forwarding
on an email to this or any list.
take care all,
-sarah
