*Senate Meeting*

*March 11, 2007*

*4PM*

Alex Werbos: Pro-tempor for the deliberation of the session (Kelch is
running).

The President has asked for an emergency session, but is away from his
computer for the weekend. I will deliver his message for him, per his
request.

An emergency session of the UA Senate, as described in Article IV,
Section 4 of the Senate Bylaws, will be held:

Sunday, March 11, 2007
4:00pm
W20-400 (Senate Chambers)

The session is expected to last no more than 30-45 minutes. Order will
be called when quorum has been reached.

The Senate is charged with reviewing three candidates for membership in
the Undergraduate Association Judicial Board. The reason for the
compressed time table is that a case may come in front of the board for
review in the near future, and it is desirable to legitimize the body
before any such cases come forward. The three candidates are:

Mark Stephens
Diana Jue
Adelaide Calbry-Muzyka

Approval of the Judicial Board is supposed to occur at the last meeting
of Senate in the previous year, however this did not occur last year
because the President at the time did not furnish any candidates. The
current candidates were selected by the Executive branch.

JUDBOARD:

*Mark Stephens*: Sophomore, JudComm Chair of Burton Conner, Not affiliated
with UA, Many affiliations with engineering groups, a reasonable person and
limited exposure to student groups (Next House)
*Diana Jue*: Sophomore, course 11. Rational, and she 'thinks through things
before she does things.' Involved in Christian Fellowship group. (Next
House)
*Adelaide** Calbry-Muzyka*: Sophomore, course 2. (Student Council in High
school.) Impartial person, likes to reason things out in her decision making
process. (Involved in community service, nothing to do with UA.) (BurtonConner)

*Unanimous AYE's, all approved.*
