Hello All,

The W1 steering committee has begun work to plan for the opening of an
undergraduate residence hall in Bldg. W1, which currently houses the
Graduate Ashdown Community. The committee is in the process of setting up a
website on which updates of the committee's work will be posted.

Many of you have probably heard that most of the work on this project will
be done through three subcommittees (described at the end of this e-mail).
Many (if not all) of these subcommittee meetings will have open seats so
that interested community members may attend. The steering committee has set
up the mailing list "w1-announce@mit.edu" to keep the community informed
about upcoming open meetings and other information. To subscribe, please
visit: http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/w1-announce

While many subcommittee meetings will be open to the community, in the
interests of moving through the agenda in a timely fashion, attendance may
be limited at the discretion of the subcommittee chairs. Please read
announcements of upcoming meetings carefully, and RSVP if requested to.
Community members are encouraged to give input through subcommittee
representatives (listed at the end of this message).

Best

- David
