JERUSALEM A weekend cyberattack campaign targeting Israeli government websites
failed to cause serious disruption, officials said Sunday. The attacks followed
warnings in the name of the group Anonymous that it was launching
a massive hacking assault to protest Israeli policy toward the Palestinians.Yitzhak
Ben Yisrael, of the government's National Cyber Bureau, said hackers had
mostly failed to shut down key sites."So far it is as was
expected, there is hardly any real damage," Ben Yisrael said. "Anonymous
doesn't have the skills to damage the country's vital infrastructure. And
if that was its intention, then it wouldn't have announced the attack
ahead of time. It wants to create noise in the media about
issues that are close to its heart," he said.Posters using the name
of the hacking group Anonymous had warned they would launch a massive
attack on Israeli sites in a strike they called (hash)OpIsrael starting
April 7. Some said they were launching the assault in "solidarity" with
the Palestinians.Israel's Bureau of Statistics was down on Sunday morning
but it was unclear if it was hacked. Media said the sites
of the Defense and Education Ministry as well as banks had come
under attack the night before but they were mostly repelled. An Israeli government
spokesman issued a statement saying sites were operating properly as usual.
It said an Education Ministry site was down temporarily due to a
technical issue unrelated to hacking attem

an economist at the liberal Economic Policy Institute. The Labor Department
says there are still more than three unemployed people for every job
opening.Cynthia Marriott gave up her job search after an interview in October
for a position as a hotel concierge."They never said no," she says.
"They just never called me back."Her husband hasn't worked full time since
2006. She cashed out her 401(k) after being laid off from a
job at a Los Angeles entertainment publicity firm in 2009. The couple
owes thousands in taxes for that withdrawal. They have no health insurance. She
got the maximum 99 weeks' of unemployment benefits then allowed in California
and then moved to Atlanta. Now she is looking to receive federal disability
benefits for a lung condition that she said leaves her weak and
unable to work a full day. The application is pending a medical
review."I feel like I have no choice," says Marriott, 47. "It's just
really sad and frightening"During the peak of her job search, Marriott was
filling out 10 applications a day. She applied for jobs she felt
overqualified for, such as those at Home Depot and Petco but never
heard back. Eventually, the disappointment and fatigue got to her."I just
wanted a job," she says. "I couldn't really go on anymore looking
for a job."Young people are leaving the job market, too. The participation
rate for Americans ages 20 to 24 hit a 41-year low 69.6
percent last year before bouncing bac

<p style="font-size:xx-small;">A constitutional attorney says the possibility that Foxnews.com reporter
Jana Winter could go to jail for refusing to reveal her sources
for a story in the aftermath of the Aurora movie massacre is
enough for the government to re-evaluate state Shield laws.David Rivkin,
who appeared on Fox & Friends Sunday, said there needs to be
a national solution that would never put any reporter in that situation. In
2012, Winter wrote an exclusive story detailing how alleged gunman James
Holmes sent a package to a University of Colorado psychiatrist that included
a notebook "full of details about how he was going to kill
people," according to one of her sources.Rivkin said Holmes lawyers believe
they wont get a fair trial if they dont know Winters source. Its
a very weak argument, Rivkin said.Rivkin explained that New York, where
Winter is based, has an Absolute Shield Law that protects reporters from
revealing their sources. However, New York courts decided that Winters situation
should be looked at under Colorado Shield laws, which contain exceptions
that may allow reporters to testify. This whole story to me demonstrates
that there is a need for a national solution, Rivkin said.Click for

said Sunday. The officer spoke on condition of anonymity, citing office
policy. The top U.S. military commander in South Korea, Gen. James Thurman,
will not make a planned trip to Washington this week to testify
before Congress because of tensions with North Korea. In an email Sunday
to The Associated Press, Army Col. Amy Hannah said Thurman would remain
in Seoul as "a prudent measure." He was scheduled to testify on
Tuesday and Wednesday. The U.S. Defense Department has delayed an intercontinental
ballistic missile test that had been planned for this week because of
concerns the launch could be misinterpreted and exacerbate the Korean crisis,
a senior defense official told The Associated Press.Defense Secretary Chuck
Hagel decided to delay the test at an Air Force base in
California until sometime next month, the official said Saturday. The official
was not authorized to speak publicly about the test delay and requested
anonymity. In recent weeks, the U.S. has followed provocations from North
Korea with shows of force connected to the joint exercises with South
Korea. It has sent nuclear capable B-2 and B-52 bombers and stealth
F-22 fighters to participate in the drills. In addition, the U.S. said last
week that two of the Navy's missile-defense ships were moved closer to
the Korean Peninsula, and a land-based missile-defense system is being deployed
