I think it would be courteous to the people making requests if we were
to move further discussion of political issues like the FTAA, global
warming, the United Nations, gender and race relations, etc. to
spa-discuss@mit.edu.
mit-talk is for "discussion of issues of interest to the entire MIT
community" and spa-discuss is for "for discussion of poltical news".
It seems the latter would be a better place for us to discuss and/or
flame about the political activities of MIT affiliates in the
political world large, which is probably not of interest (alas) to the
"entire MIT community" who are probably more interested in hearing
about things actually happening on or to campus and associated Off
Campus Housing of Ill Repute. 8)
If you enjoyed hearing about the Harvard sit-in and the FTAA protest,
feel free to add yourself to spa-discuss now by visiting
http://web.mit.edu/moira or e-mailing owner-spa-discuss@mit.edu. The
moira database now updates the mail servers 8 times a day, so you
don't have to miss hardly anything. (Hurray for technology!)
