Could work.  I still support a popular election for UAP/UAVP, however
poor the implementation of that popular system has been.  (The GSC has
Council members elected by departments, residences, and at large and
then the Council elects the officers, President, VP, Secretary, and
Treasurer.  As far as I know, the GSC hasn't had any full-fledged
elections scandals lately, but it has had some close, bitter races.)

I don't know if the UA has polled undergraduates recently.  There was
a survey of attitudes toward housing freshmen on campus in 98-99.
(That one obviously didn't make much of a difference to FOC, but it
did influence some of the design of Simmons Hall.)
