Hi! I'm one of the new PIs of the VIEW project. Our homepage
is currently down because we got h4x0red by not-so-l33t skript
k1dd33Z two days ago, and launched an attach that nearly took out
the entire LCS network.

We somehow got ~1 yr behind schedule on VIEW deployment, but are
currently working on merging the project with the Intelligent Kiosk
project at the AI Lab. We're presently assembling a working
prototype of the first Intelligent Kiosk, which is being equipped with
cameras for vision and video transmission, one or more touchscreen
displays, speech in + out, and a network connection that will keep the
kiosks in contact with each other.

Our project maililng list is view@mit.edu. Please send us
questions/comments there, and we'll have the web page back up asap!
(I'm not on mit-talk yet, so please use our mailing list. Thanks.)

Yours,
electronic Max

Regarding the Lobby 7 electronic bulletin boards recently mentioned
here, people may be interested to know that it is actually a
Microsoft-funded iCampus project. Its meta-homepage is:

http://www.swiss.ai.mit.edu/projects/icampus/projects/view.html

Unfortunately, view.lcs.mit.edu, where the real homepage is, seems to
be down. 8(
