So, I used to have a similar problem, but with my last sets of glasses
my doctor had me try something interesting. (Forgive me for any misuse
of words, I got these over a year ago)
I actually have two sets of glasses - one has refractive lenses that
brings my default focal point in to about 18 inches. Seeing beyond
about 3 feet is a strain with them, but I can sit at a monitor for hours
without strain. (Reading is comfortable too)
