I've been wondering when things would come to something like this --
official advice not to give people the time of day.
This is from the latest Campus Police Crime Alert bulletin:
*When walking on or off campus BE AWARE. Many thieves will "test" their
potential victim by asking for the time...remember if asked for the time
don't stop, just say something like "it's about ___ o'clock".
Maybe there should be corresponding advice about never letting your
watch be apparent, lest you be beaten up for the insult. :-(
