being an idiot

The Saturday before last I was in a rush to get somewhere, and I
decided to climb over a fence as a shortcut. This wasn't a particularly
evil or nasty fence---I've climbed over worse---but I was wearing my
evil and nasty hiking boots that I'm always tripping in, and I broke my
leg landing on the other side. After about 10 minutes of yelling for
help at a huge apartment building right in front of me, the security
guard came out and called an ambulance for me. It was another 20 minutes
before I was on it, though. The next day I had surgery (about 6 hours
under epidural, so I was awake) and I got out of the hospital this past
Thursday.

I'm happy that the surgery went well, and I think I'm doing okay, but
I'll be on crutches for another three months, which sucks, especially
since my company is moving next month to a building which has no
handicap access.
