Due to what seems to have been a failure of my
communication and poor timing, a month's worth of data on a
file server I maintain was lost, including several papers,
thesis proposals, code, and other stuff-of-grad-student-
life. There were some misinterpretations of what was going to
be backed up when and by whom, and so people had data in
non-backed-up places.
Ah, responsibility, and what happens when you truly
screw it up. I'm going to bury myself in a hole now. But
remember, *always* keep a recent backup, because you can't
trust anybody. Especially not me.
