Maybe; but that means that you now have to trust the car to see you, as
opposed letting the responsibility for seing the car to be yours, so
that you can get out of the way.  

Since it only takes one driver not seeing you to really wreck your day,
I wear a florescent yellow safety vest, and a blinking LED light on my
bike.  I don't rollerblade, but if I did, I'd want to be wearing similar
equipment.
