This isn't exactly the same, but I can understand why he was annoyed. I
was driving on the freeway in Albuquerque once, and they were doing
night construction on one of the crossing roads. I knew they had
closed off the left two lanes, but I didn't realize they'd closed off
the entire highway, and that I was supposed to exit _right_ before the
construction, so I'm going about 40 mph, and notice barely in time to stop
that the rightmost lane was actually closed off. There were two guys
there waving traffic off to the off-ramp, and one of them stepped in front
of the way my car was going as if he was going to stop my car that way.
I don't think he really thought about it, and I heard as I was pulling off
the other guy say "Don't ever try to stop the car like that!"
But I was really shaken up, and to this day, I would still like
to get ahold of that guy and make sure it's drilled into him *NOT TO
STEP IN FRONT OF A CAR*..... Let me kill myself, but don't make me kill
him.
