I just got a message from my Rabbi letting me know (how kind of him)
that the hot dog cart in Lobby 13 which is supposed to be under his
supervision and kosher has been having problems and should therefore
be considered not kosher until further motice.

Notice the "has been having problems." Jews are supposed to be able
to trust their Rabbi to give them quick and immediate notification of
anything that might affect their ability to observe the laws of
Judaism. But from the tone of Rabbi Shevitz's letter, it sounds like
there has been trouble with the cart for a long time.

So, where's the bolt of lightning which is going to strike me down now
that I've eaten non-Kosher hot dogs? :-)

Better yet, where's the bolt of lightning that's going to strike down
Rabbi Shevitz for not telling me that they were no longer Kosher?

:-(
