If what your friend is going to do bothers you and seriously affects what 
you think of them, then you owe it to them to tell them that it bothers you.
And perhaps there is more to the issue than you see.  Perhaps something
is promoting them to commit this vandalism.... Perhaps they need someone
to talk to about something.  Perhaps they don't understand that it's wrong.
Or haven't thought about the consequences.... Even well meaning people
don't always realize what they're doing.  You don't have to turn them in,
you don't have to make them change your mind, you don't have to hold their 
actions against them, but you can certainly express your disapproval.
