Two defenses I like to use against that feeling are either a good
non-ARA meal or a good night's sleep. (I.e. use one of the things MIT
tends to deprive people of to clear my head.)

I agree that some athletics can also be a great stress reliever. (I
find that running around shooting people with little plastic darts
works incredibly well for me.)
(I think I would love playing racquetball, except that I have 20/20
vision in my right eye and significantly worse vision in my left eye,
i.e. no depth perception, and about five minutes of racquetball makes
my left eye turn in which is very annoying and suprisingly painful.
I'm not trying to change the subject, but I find this Depressing.)
