Actually, thanks.  I'll try some of the suggestions.  
My mom (who's a psychiatrist) suggested taking one OTC dose of 
Benedril at midnight if I still have trouble.  She said that the 
anti-histamine also acts as a mild anti-depressant.  I've never heard that before.

Reading doesn't help too much- I can get engaged in the most mindless drivel 
that's out there.  In high school, I read my preteen-aged sisters' 
"Sweet Valley High" books.  They were terrible, and I stayed up all night read-
ing anyways.  I read a bad auto-biogoraphy of some doctor in England over 
the first night of this trouble.  He thought he was being funny about things, but  he was just being grossly insensitive... I kept asking myself why I was 
reading it, but I finished the book anyways.  Sci-Fi short stories are ok- 
they end and you can lie there and stare at the cieling.  sigh.
