If this is for an EECS class, you should immediately contact the instructor
and anyone else you think appropriate. They keep making a big deal and
passing out the CTS letter to every class that has the potential for large
amounts of typing, so they sure as hell should respect it.
Even if this isn't an EECS class, you shuld contact the instructor and
explain to them that you are really sorry, but you have every intention
of saving your wrists over their assignment. You can give them a copy of
the EECS handout.
