depression is...

The first thing that hit me when I got back to Cambridge Sunday night was
Linda [Julien, my girlfriend, for those who don't know us] telling me her
benevolent family that was paying her tuition stopped being benevolent, and
she has to drop out. Monday night Nico [Garcia, my roommate] wiped out on
his motorcycle and has been in Mass. General Hospital [room Bigelow 534, for
those who want to visit] since then. Tuesday Linda went into the Med. Center
(a big mistake) because she had a stomach ache. They told her she had
appendicitis (at least that was what they thought) and they would probably
need to operate that day. (Turns out they were f***ed up as usual, and
she was OK (about which we were both relieved) but it ate up an entire
afternoon.) Today, Linda got her key stuck in my lock while my thesis
advisor was bitching me out, and she had to leave my apt. unlocked with the
key in the lock until about 5pm when I got back to fix it.

Any ideas for what to do now? If I don't hear any better ones, I'll jump
off a cliff on Saturday. (Well, I will be attached to a rope.)
