Let's see...
Larry Bird's number gets retired, Kevin McHale and (probably) Reggie Lewis
play their final games. Ray Bourque comes a year closer to ending his great
career without a Stanley Cup. The Celtics get bounced in 4 by an expansion
club, a good foreshadowing of what is to come. Three of my favorite TV
shows -- Cheers, The Wonder Years, and Quantum Leap -- all go off the
air this month, and last, but certainly not least, in another month, the
last of my original MIT friends will be scattering off to the four corners
of creation...sigh......
