I would suspect that many Christians find the commercialization just as
distracting and annoying as anyone else.  Rhu wished that the
Christian's holiday wouldn't affect his; well, if you go far back
enough it's really the Pagan's winter soltice celebrations which is
much more responsible for all of the mandatory gift giving.

Don't get me wrong.  I think it's a neat holiday, except for the times
when I don't have any time to shop and I Have To Get My Family Presents;
but the December festivities as commonly celebrated by our culture has
very little to do with anybody's religion, unless you worship at the
Temple of the Almighty Dollar.  (For many retailers, the Christmas
season is the only time when they show any profit at all.  Scary, isn't
it?)
